At EasyCode, we understand the importance of data protection. We take every measure possible to ensure your data is protected and safe.

This Privacy Policy describes how EasyCode ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you use our app EasyCode ("the App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information Collection and Use

Data Collection

While using our App, we may collect information related to your code. This Data is used to understand how you interact with our App and to improve our services.

The logs from EasyCode(which contain snippets of code) are logged for debugging purposes. These will only be stored for 30 days.
We use third party providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic to generate code and explanations.
OpenAI has explicitly stated they will not train on this data and will persist it for 30 days to monitor trust and safety.
We store the codebase as embeddings, which are not readable as plaintext.
We use MixPanel to log telemetry in order to understand how EasyCode is being used. This includes the number of queries submitted, buttons clicked, and other behavioral data.
No data being used will be sold to third parties.

Use of Data

We use the collected data for various purposes:

To generate answers to developer questions and help with the search, comprehension, editing and debugging of code.
To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the App
To monitor the usage of the App
To detect, prevent and address technical issues

Transfer of Data

Your information, including the Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

Disclosure of Data

We may disclose your Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

To comply with a legal obligation
To protect and defend the rights or property of EasyCode
To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App
To protect the personal safety of users of the App or the public
To protect against legal liability
No data being used will be sold to third parties.

Security of Data

We will store your information in electronic format on industry-standard servers that we have selected. Except where required to do so by law, we will not store your personal information in any physical or paper-based format.

The servers we select to store information engage security software and generally accepted standards to protect personal information. The software used by these servers is intended to prevent unauthorized access or improper use.

However, no security system is perfect and there is always a risk of unauthorized parties accessing your personal information. Therefore, we make no guarantees or representations as to the technical or legal compliance of the servers we use. We cannot guarantee the complete protection and security of your personal information.

Our servers may be located outside of Canada, and thus are potentially subject to the privacy and security laws in force in other countries. If you have concerns about your personal information being stored electronically in foreign jurisdictions, please contact us before proceeding to use the App.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
